With a billion due dates ending this week, I know for sure most of the consulting fraternity is at work and so am I even as I type this. Lets admit. It has been this way last year too. Now, I know not of the extensions if any but I am sure we are trying really hard to close that HUUUUUGGGGEEEEEE list of returns in time.

Hope you power through this week. Hope your family understands your absence during the holidays. Hope you take an off sometime soon and make up for all this time you missed with your loved ones. I love my fraternity for this very reason. We just power through.

Interest for deferred payment of advance tax. Wow.. even after all these years - the sound of sec 234C still evokes an unsettling feeling. 10 years ago when back in the days of my articleship I had to compute this interest - I was confused. Perplexed and angry in equal measure. Of course now we have simple 234C interest calculators readily available on google. But wait.

What's it all about - why pay interest when I have paid advance tax? Common question from common man. Well no so common for the consulting fraternity.
