🌟 Excited to share a glimpse of the inauguration of the "Educational Metaverse" project at the newly established Virtual Reality Section of the Guwahati Planetarium. This groundbreaking initiative is a significant step towards enriching Assam's science and technology ecosystem, offering immersive learning experiences to students and science enthusiasts.

The event was graced by the presence of Shri Keshab Mahanta কেশৱ মহন্ত, Hon’ble Minister of Science and Technology, Government of Assam. With this innovative addition, subjects such as physics, biology, geology, and space science will now be more accessible and engaging, fostering a deeper understanding among audiences.

Funded with ₹1 crore from the 2022-23 state budget, the project was brought to life through a collaboration with the Embedded Interaction Lab , Department of Design, IIT Guwahati, under the ‘Evam’ Project, which designed the VR modules and facilitated the VR headsets. This effort highlights the transformative power of technology in education.

The event was further enriched by the presence of notable dignitaries, including Mrs. Laya Madduri, Secretary of the Science-Technology and Climate Change Department, Dr. Jaydeep Barua, Director of the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, Mr. Vijay Shankar Sharma, North East Convener of the National Science Museum Council, and Dr. Keyur Sorathia, Assistant Professor at IIT Guwahati.

This initiative marks a milestone in advancing education and inspiring innovation through cutting-edge technology. 🚀
