The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dhemaji, has issued an urgent public advisory following a massive landslide in the upstream region that has temporarily blocked the flow of the Siji River. This obstruction poses a serious risk of a sudden flash flood if the accumulated water is released.

All residents of Dhemaji district, particularly those living along riverbanks, streams, wetlands, embankments, and other low-lying areas, are urged to remain on high alert. Until further notice, avoid visiting or crossing rivers and streams, and refrain from fishing, grazing livestock near water bodies, bathing, or engaging in any activity close to the river.
