In a world obsessed with the polished and the perfect, I choose what has been touched by time.
Cracked walls, worn fabrics, fading colors—these hold stories that perfection erases.
I believe beauty lives in imperfection, in what has aged, and endured.
My work is not about fixing or restoring, it is about seeing—what already exists.
This way of seeing began quietly, when I first tried to paint the Sun Temple. I couldn’t capture it! It felt distant, almost unreachable. (Something which I have to try again now)
But when I painted my first figure— lady waiting - it wasn’t perfect, but it carried emotion.
And then came Jodhpur.
Not from memory, but from a photograph I found when my son traveled there.
Something in those blues—the aged walls, the history held in them—pulled me in deeply.
I wasn’t painting a place. I was responding to a feeling I didn’t fully understand then.
Since then, I have followed that instinct.
I paint memory. I paint texture. I paint beauty.
Because what is broken is not incomplete—
it is more alive than anything untouched.
