There have been plenty of discussions around global warming and the extinction of certain animals especially
in a country like India which prides itself on the varieties of animals it has. However, pride alone does not
protect or safeguard the vulnerable. There is a systemic change that needs to be made at the society level.
In this clip of Bridging the Gap episode 18, Udit shares his experience of going back to certain locations and
finding them in bad conditions due to the negligence of the guides and tourists. His solution has always been
to hire professionals and train local people on how to interact with the forests and animals.

This episode felt like a reminder that you don’t always
have to force yourself into a life that looks good on paper.
No two people are the same. Every person takes their own journey to self-discovery. There are many jobs
that are niche and yet sought after due to the love people have for it.

naturalist, stating how these were opportunities that he was not privy to due to the lack of importance given to
such professions and environment.
