CAMINO WALK:
(A bucket list tick-off)
Far from the country's politics and affairs, twelve of us embarked on a long-cherished dream in the last week of May. For me, it was a bucket-list hike that had been planned many times but never realized. This time, when I shared the plan for the CAMINO WALK and announced the journey, it took less than 24 hours to gather a group of 'dirty dozen' ready for the adventure.
Having heard about the Camino from countless people worldwide and stories from those who had completed the hike multiple times, I was eager to experience it firsthand. What started as a fun walk soon tested our patience, strength, stamina, endurance, and perseverance. Thanks to a strict month-long regime of morning walks and runs, the hike was manageable, though it did leave many of us with knee pain, sore legs, and blisters.
Despite these minor hiccups, we overcame them to eventually arrive at Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. This destination attracts people from around the world through nine different routes, each with its own duration and challenges, yet all incredibly scenic and picturesque. We chose the popular French route, covering 116 km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela over five days. It was a journey that tested us in every way but ultimately proved to be an unforgettable and fulfilling experience.
On the last day, I was immensely relieved to kick off my hiking shoes, which had become an inseparable part of me during those long and strenuous walks. Each day involved over 20 kilometers of walking, with the third day alone posing a challenge of more than 30 kilometers. Despite the exhaustion, this hike will always remain one of my most cherished experiences, adding to my adventures across six continents.

BUCKET LIST WALK:
(26- 30 May' 2024)
Twelve of us accepted the challenge of walking the Camino on the French route, covering 116 km over 5 days. The key was to start early and finish early each day, but the long distance and nature of the walk demanded much more than physical ability. It required precise time management, consistent pace, mental strength, stamina, endurance, devotion, and a never-say-die attitude. Despite facing blisters, dehydration, fatigue, and weariness, many members persevered, proving that with determination, anything is possible. Joining 1,000 others from around the world, we successfully completed our journey at the magnificent Santiago de Compostela. It truly was the walk of a lifetime.
