~ Raavan // 21.4.19 - 29.6.25
TW: Major Raavan popped into our lives one fine day in 19' while feeding tilu & laali.
We had absolutely no clue where the toothless, one eyed creature had popped up from.
A true nomad, he'd vanish for days and us searching for countless hours but to no avail & he'd suddenly pop up out of the blue as if he had always been there.
Over the years, raavan would get into fights with other dogs resulting in multiple inhuries we treated over the years, transitioned to being an alpha male and leading a pack of doggos, continuing his nomadic journey until yesterday.
Last evening Pops went to meet a couple of dogs, raavan one of them - fine, bubbling around his usual spot.
Today morning, he was no more.
Another case of reckless driving, a car ran over him late at night in the middle of an open field - notorious for car drifting and what not - claimed multiple lives over the years.
Every time something like this happens, our heart shatters a lil bit more. Not because of his death, but the way he left - struggling, in pain in his last moments.
RIP Major, hope you're well wherever you are. Thank you for being a part of our lives & teaching us the true essence of freedom.
Gone, but never forgotten.

3️⃣ Legged Beauty // 22.3.20 - 20.3.25
Five years ago we came across this three legged beauty hiding underneath a car, that cute little face popped out as soon as she smelled food.
Every day during the lockdown, the first spot of our feeding drive inside the police station is where we would find her, waiting for us everyday.
She barely moved from her spot since she couldn't walk too much, a kind timid soul just existing in the small radius of hers.
She would keep Licking her wound on her arm and it took us months to heal it. The ointment would usually end up in her tummy instead of the wound.
Gradually she was getting older, her social circle of friends & humans getting smaller which led to her venturing out of her territory.
Yesterday, she was runover by a car in the parking lot.
The latest victim of cars in the area.
While I'm still processing Sukhi's passing away, the news that the 3 legged beauty is run down in a similar fashion cannot fathom the emotions I'm feeling right now.
She was vulnerable, but we assumed was safe - a mistake we made and should've shifted her to the shelter.
But we can't save everyone, sometimes I wish I could take all of them - the ones who are getting older to a safe haven, but it'll take some time to build that.
Until then one can only hope that we have the strength to manage through the losses we suffer.
Gone too soon my kiddo.
Gone but never forgotten.
