π₯ We can snack in PCOS Polycystic O***y Syndrome), but Snack Smart!
PCOS is characterized by menstrual irregularities, hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, cravings, acne, and weight gain.
Snacking in PCOS is permissible as part of a balanced diet, not exceeding 350-400 calories if one follows a 1700-calorie diet.
Healthy options are nuts, beans, yogurt, buttermilk, or popcorn.
Avoid high-calorie, high-glycemic snacks such as chow mein, samosas, or sugary drinks, which can hinder weight loss and be as calorically dense as a full meal!

π₯ Intermittent Fasting, Eating within a Time-window, varies with different body constitutions, and is Not a recommended Solution for All!
In today's world of calorie counting and structured diet plans, a different idea has captured public attention- Eating within Specific Time Windows rather than at all hours!
INTERMITTENT FASTING has emerged as one of the most discussed health trends, embraced by fitness enthusiasts, celebrities, and medical researchers alike.
Yet the concept is far from new! Centuries ago, Benjamin Franklin advised,
"To lengthen thy life, lessen thy meals!"
Long before modern nutrition science, cultures across the world practised fasting for health, discipline, and spiritual reflection.
πToday's key question:
π‘Q: "Can skipping meals actually improve health?"
π A: The answer is not straightforward.
"It may benefit some, but it is not a universal solution!"

π₯ Extreme Heat & Warm Nights: A Silent Stress on the Body!
The evolving weather pattern marked by intense daytime heat, unusually warm nights and sudden thunderstorms, is placing significant stress on the body. The key issue is that the body doesn't get a chance to cool down at night, leading to fatigue, dehydration and strain on the heart," said Dr Rajiva Gupta, senior consultant at CK Birla Hospital.
He warned that sudden shifts from extreme heat to dust storms and lightning could also trigger respiratory distress in vulnerable groups and increase the risk of accidents.
"We are already seeing rising cases of fatigue, dehydration, headaches, poor sleep and worsening diabetes and BP control, accounting for nearly 20% of daily visits,"
Gupta said.
He advised residents to avoid stepping out between 11am and 4pm, drink water regularly, reduce tea, coffee and alcohol intake, wear light cotton clothing, cover the head outdoors and keep ORS handy.
During thunderstorms, he said, people should stay away from open spaces, tall trees and metal structures.
The elderly, especially those living alone, patients with heart disease, diabetes or hypertension, and outdoor workers remain among the most vulnerable!

Dr. Alka Gupta, in her own words,
"*Strong at 60. Independent at 80*
This is not merely an aspiration β it is a goal well within our reach.
In a well-informed and discerning Crest community, I donβt see myself standing here as a teacher. Rather, as a healthcare professional, my purpose today is simply to raise awareness.
I want to draw your attention to a journey many of us are on β or will be β the transition from perimenopause through menopause and beyond. How we understand these changes today will quietly but powerfully shape our health, our vitality, and our independence in the decades ahead"!
