India’s gaming sector is expanding rapidly, and so are the vulnerabilities children face within it. Our new report, “𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆: 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻”, is our attempt to shine a light on this largely overlooked space, where risks are evolving faster than responses.

The report was launched by 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼, National Human Rights Commission Member, emphasised the need for child-specific rules and regulations that are designed for the complex and evolving gaming ecosystem.

Sameer Desai, a video games industry expert, shared his views as a foreword that speaks to the industry’s fast-evolving nature and the critical need to centre child safety in gaming design.

Inclusive Skilling has been a critical theme within the work at Space2Grow. Our work as a technical expert on the skilling program for survivors of trafficking has been a learning journey for all stakeholders involved. Investors, implementing partners, skill development organisations, and survivors- all came together to design a program that enables affirmative action within the skill development ecosystem. Sharing our insights through a journey mapping- modelling of the inclusive skilling program.

It enables easier production of harmful content, potentially making the problem far larger and leaving long-term consequences that will affect children for years.

She also highlighted that while India does not have specific laws for AI-generated CSAM, the existing laws like the IT Act and POCSO Act can still be applied. Even AI-generated content depicting child obscenity can be prosecuted under these laws, allowing legal action without the need for AI-specific legislation.

If you have ever been treated differently based on your s*x, colour, religion, perceived abilities (or the lack thereof) or any other trait, you know how that feels.

However, the reality of discrimination is much worse for the people from the most marginalised and ignored communities, survivors of abuse, trafficking, violence and for persons with disabilities, among many others.

At Space 2 Grow, we recognise that children need to be protected, skills promoted among the marginalised and dignity provided to those who have survived abuse and discrimination.

And that is why we exist.

So today, we stand in solidarity to celebrate this day and reiterate our commitment to work with , , and to build a world that is safe, skilled and free.
