A devastating road accident occurred on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in Palghar district when a truck carrying a wedding procession (baraat) allegedly rammed into a container truck near the Dhaniwari area. The collision was extremely severe, triggering chaos and panic at the scene. Soon after the incident was reported, police personnel and local residents rushed to help with rescue efforts.

As per preliminary reports, at least 12 people lost their lives in the tragic crash, while many others sustained injuries. The injured victims were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities have started an investigation to find out the exact reason behind the accident, while rescue teams continued clearing operations on the highway.

A horrific and shocking case of cow smuggling has surfaced from Jammu and Kashmir, mainly near the Kathua-Lakhanpur and Udhampur border areas. To avoid police checkpoints, smugglers had reportedly modified a petrol/oil tanker by creating a hidden compartment inside it for smuggling animals.

During a routine checkpoint inspection, police became suspicious of the tanker and attempted to stop it. However, the driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot.

When officers inspected the tanker, they were stunned to discover that instead of oil, around 14 to 20 cows had been tightly tied with ropes and crammed inside the iron container. The animals were reportedly struggling to breathe inside the dark and airless tanker.

As there was no immediate way to rescue them, police had to call two JCB machines along with a gas cutter to cut open the tanker and safely free the cows.
