TERMS ON WHICH NCLEX NGN QUESTIONS ARE BASED

Sinus rhythm=

It is regular, with a rate between 60-100 beats/minute, has P waves present before each QRS complex, and has QRS complexes and PR intervals that measure within normal limits

Atrial flutter=

In atrial flutter, there are no P waves present; instead there are flutter waves in a characteristic sawtooth pattern.

Bundle branch block =

A bundle branch block is defined as a QRS complex that is wider than 0.12 seconds.

First-degree atrioventricular (AV) block =

A first degree AV block is defined as a PR interval that is longer than 0.20 seconds in length.
