September 16th marks World Ozone Day, a day to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol in 1987 and to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer. This international treaty is a landmark environmental agreement that has successfully phased out the production of numerous substances responsible for ozone depletion.
