New Wages code is more likely to be implemented from 1st July, 2022. In hand salary of employees will be impacted from this code as basic salary shall not be allowed to be less than 50% of CTC which shall result in more PF and gratuity deduction. Working hours may increase to maximum 12 hours a day with 3 days weak leaves.

The Code subsumes four labour laws – Payment of Wages Act, 1936, Minimum Wages Act, 1948, Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 and Equal Remuneration Act, 1976.
