General Awareness is a must for common public:

One of my friend was recently travelling from Punjab on his car and Punjab Police India officials ( Dhakoli police station post near Railway crossing ) have stopped him to check his car. They asked for all necessary documents and he cooperated with them.

Unaware of what is going in the mind of police constable who was enquiring him ,said there is tint on the back of his car. He said the tint is RTO approved and as per norms, there should be visibility of 70% in front and rear window of car. He denied saying there is no such thing and it must be removed.

My friend asked them to remove tint if that is the case but he said fine needs to be paid first. Constable asked him to come out of his car and speak to another official sitting inside the Dhakoli area police post. The guy gave my friend a shock and said fine for tint would be Rs 6000/ ; unsure of fine, he requested him to let them go as this is for the first time, somebody told them like that but police official just wants the bribe and said he can let him go, if he pay him Rs 1000/. As he do not want to waste his time, my friend gave police official Rs 500/.

Suddenly police officials became very happy and said, Don’t feel bad about this, it’s just cold here and we will have some drinks in the evening. Surprised and shocked, he said nothing and moved out from there.

Later, When I checked the fine for tinted car glass, it is Rs 100/ on first occurrence and then Rs 300 going forward and your DL gets cancelled, if someone does not remove the car tinting after multiple warnings.

We all should be aware of our rules and regulations or else system which is meant to protect and take care of our well being will cheat and loot you in the name of norms and regulations.
