On this Women’s Day, my reflection is simple and strengthens my belief that leadership is not about standing ahead of others, but about standing with them. It is about leading with integrity, enduring with resilience, and communicating with transparency. Most importantly, it is about ensuring that the path we walk today becomes easier and more inspiring for those who will walk it tomorrow...
International Women’s Day 2026 will be observed worldwide on March 8, a day dedicated to recognising the achievements of women and raising awareness about gender equality. The day celebrates women’s contributions across social, economic, cultural and political fields, while also drawing attention to the challenges many women still face.Every year, the day is marked with campaigns, events and discussions focused on women’s rights and empowerment.
MY QUESTION - DO WE NEED A WOMENS' DAY TO RESPECT EACH OTHER ? DO WE NEED THE SPECIAL RESERVATION ? SHOULD EVERY DAY NOT BE A DAY OF RESPECT , OF JUSTICE , OF NON DISCRIMINATION ?
In principle, respect, justice, and dignity should never need a special date. In an ideal world, every day would naturally uphold equality, fairness, and non-discrimination. The idea that we must designate a particular day to recognise women can itself feel paradoxical. Respect should not be ceremonial or occasional—it should be embedded in the way we live, work, lead, and treat one another every single day.Perhaps the real question we must ask ourselves is not whether we need these recognitions, but whether we are each doing enough to build a culture where equality becomes the everyday norm rather than an annual reminder.
