𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐣𝐚 (𝐂𝐡𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐡)- 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦

We are proud to share that the Skill Council for Mining Sector (SCMS) received a work order from Adani Skills & Education on 20 February 2026 to conduct skill development training programs in Mine Electrician and Mine Welder trades at Surguja.

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the first batch of Mine Electrician, while the Mine Welder batch has now commenced at the Adani Skill Development Centre (SAKSHAM) - an important milestone in empowering local youth with industry - relevant skills and creating pathways for sustainable employment.

This initiative reflects SCMS’s continued commitment to strengthening the mining workforce through quality training, skill development, and industry collaboration.

A special thanks to Yogesh Velankar, Ph.D., Governing Board Member of SCMS, for his continuous guidance and support in making this initiative successful.

Representatives from the Skill Council for Mining Sector participated in a Capacity Building and Awareness Workshop for Awarding Bodies, organized by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), MSDE, Government of India and Training under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India, Government of India, on 7th April 2026 at Kaushal Bhawan.

The event commenced with an inaugural session by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India

The workshop opened with welcome remarks and context-setting by Debashree Mukherjee , Secretary, MSDE & Chairperson, NCVET. Key discussions during the workshop focused on strengthening NSQF alignment and its implementation, as well as the digital integration of platforms such as the Kaushal Verse Portal, SIDH Portal, and the Academic Bank of Credit. Additionally, a dedicated session addressed the training, assessment, and monitoring of awarding body operations.

🎤 Guest Speaker: Dr. Ajit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad

Dr. Ajit Kumar brings over 13 years of experience in mining machinery and fluid power systems, with extensive exposure to both the mining industry and academia. His research focuses on mining machinery and energy-efficient fluid power technologies.

He has successfully led multiple R&D projects supported by DST (CRG), CMPDIL, CIL, the Ministry of Coal - Official, and TEQIP. Prof. Kumar has authored 70+ research papers in reputed journals and conferences, holds patents in the field, and has also developed the SWAYAM–NPTEL course “Industrial Hydraulics and Automation.”

This webinar will explore how advanced sensor technologies, intelligent monitoring systems, and AI-driven solutions are transforming safety and health management in modern mining operations.
