A CLIENT FEEDBACK - HOW A BLOOD TEST PREVENTED SURGERY & VISION LOSS !

Sometimes doctors can feel that the patient is unnecessarily stressed about a blood test, but a red flag should not be ignored! In Deepa Choudhary's own words -
''Hello,
Weight gain has been a constant problem for me. Earlier also I had consulted dietitian Shailja Agarwal and had wonderful results leading to 12 kgs weight loss . Unfortunately all this was again gained after 2 year and this time it refused to go , I again consulted Shailja Agarwal, and when I told her my symptoms she recommended few hormonal tests. The tests showed very high prolactin levels along with thyroid. My Endocrinologist told me not to worry about the prolactin but Shailja wasn't convinced and asked me to keep track.
After repeated test in 4 months time my prolactin kept going high . When I consulted the doctor again I was diagnosed with Prolactinova, a small tumor (benign) at the base of the brain.
Thanks to my dietitian who kept pestering for the high prolactin levels and for that reason my doctor found out through MRI that the tumor size was very small and could be dissolved with medicine. He was quite surprised at the early detection and said mostly it was detected when tumor had enlarged and due to it vision got affected and surgery was required.
Early detection was rare according to the doctor and I realised it early because of my dietitian's help."
