2026 started the way 2025 ended on here: I can’t figure how to post regularly.
In any case, I will still be posting some photos from Iran, to show you a different face than what the media typically portrays.

Here we are in the old city of Kesh*t, long abandoned, and until recently a lair for smugglers on their way into the desert. This archeological wonder is now threatened due to lack of conservation efforts.
A few years back, an ecolodge was being built nearby to welcome the few tourists that venture this far. I wonder what it’s like now.

I’m leading new expeditions this year - head over to .expeditions to find out more!

The beauty of Iran also lies in its amazing array of landscapes. You can drive through a snowy pass down to lush valleys in a matter of hours, while knowing that all these parts are inhabited by vibrant nomadic communities.

Following the herd is about losing oneself in the many, surrounded by the wild beauty and variety of the landscapes we cross, step by step. Open plains, crashing springs, steep cliffs… it’s nature at its rawest. It takes an already amazing hike and turns it into something way deeper. What a journey it’s been!

This September and October, I’m taking a group on similar expeditions. 15 days to explore and learn photography in the best spots. Join us at .expeditions
