The Regent Kashmir, a 35.09-carat Kashmir sapphire, sold for 9.5 million U.S. $ in total (62 million H.K. $) at Christie's auction in Hong Kong , breaking the previous record for price per carat for a kashmir sapphire at auction.

Rough crystals of sapphires from kashmir sometimes contain deep blue spots of color on their skin, they will be found just below the surface & sometimes remains in finished stones.

Synthetic Rubies doctored to imitate natural Ruby rough
Synthetic Rubies made by Flame fusion method artificially coated with fragments of natural minerals (probably quartz) and resin mixtures to imitate natural Ruby rough. Curved stries along with minute gas bubbles was observed which was sufficient enough to prove the origin.
