Bante, bante hi sab kuch banta hai, nahin?

It takes a lot of effort to build something- anything. You would know. After all, we are all always banao-ing one thing or another in our lives. Just like Dharti maiya, our dear mother earth, forever cooking carbon for us to consume. Like a non-stop kitchen. No? With a little help from minions in our world.
Minions whom we sometimes remember, on some special days and special months and sometimes not. You can always do an intensive revision. No?

But yes, it will be stupid to assume that the kitchen mentioned is a non-stop thing. It is not. But some straights and not-so-straights, go bigul-bajaoing, maane trumpeting, in places they have no business being- other people’s straits!

All in the hope that their private kitchens can keep running, on and on.

Ab usmein ban jale, kisi ka carbon jale ya kisi aur varna ka kuch aur.
(Now whether a forest burns or somebody’s stored up carbon or the homes of some lesser beings, what does it matter?)

Why should they bother?

Uff, I have a habit of side-tracking. Main track- there is a performance about all things good and positive this Sunday.

Sun- 19th April, 4.15 PM, Indian Social Institute, Lodi Colony

It was new. It was exciting. It was breathless (behind the stage) 😬
I always feel immensely grateful everytime that I get to be on stage.
Being up there was my first love and now that I have come back to it, I just want to keep building.
And that’s what we did- visuals, layers, white and green, anonymous beings and beings made anonymous, and of course, Sakina and her ‘Whale P**p and other stories’.

A huge thanks to who just came everywhere with me- from the tailor to the rehearsals to the D-day! for that magical touch right when the nerves are about to come apart but the face must come together for the light, curtains and a hell lot of patience for much behind the scenes
for the lovely videos
***r for inviting Sakina into my stage life
for that touch of salt and that touch of air
And everyone else at

The reviews have been kind and instructional.

As I said, forever building.

Salon of the anonymous in collaboration with the oddbird theatre at the Friends of the Oddbird festival.
