Learning Beyond the Classroom.

Yesterday (08.06.2026), 17 Students from the Central Academy for State Forest Service visited Siruthuli’s project sites to experience environmental conservation in action.

From water body restoration and afforestation to community-driven sustainability initiatives, the visit provided valuable hands-on exposure to the challenges and opportunities of ecosystem restoration.

By connecting theory with real-world impact, these future forest leaders gained deeper insights into the collective efforts needed to build a greener and more sustainable future.

A Lake Restored, A Future Recharged

A new chapter has begun for Odaikeni Vannankulam, Sholinganallur.

With the support of Ford Motor Company, Siruthuli has commenced the restoration and development of this vital waterbody, reinforcing our commitment to water security, ecological restoration, and environmental sustainability.

The project was inaugurated by P. Saravanan in the presence of Mr. Thirunavukarasu, Assistant Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation, along with representatives from Ford and Siruthuli, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for the lake and its surrounding ecosystem.

The restoration will revive the lake’s water-holding capacity, improve groundwater recharge, strengthen biodiversity, and create a healthier environment for the community. The project also includes the planting of 500 native trees, helping transform the waterbody into a thriving green and blue habitat.

Every restored waterbody is a step towards a more resilient future. Together, we are bringing life back to our lakes, securing water for communities, and creating spaces where nature can flourish once again.
