M. Tech in Robotics and Automation at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is unique in that it provides an academic curriculum that pulls from Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and Computer Science disciplines, exposing the students to the breadth of and interdependence among the engineering disciplines and offering the students exactly what is required to master the technical knowledge required. This MTech program will provide a comprehensive educational environment and enable students to gain expertise in next-generation robotics and automation systems. By exposing our students to do coursework from multiple disciplines and preparing them to think about robotics from a holistic approach, our program will prepare a skilled industry workforce as well as expert researchers who will be able to provide leadership in a world that is increasingly dependent on technology.

M. Tech. in Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing (BISP) program uses the principles of Engineering, Biology, and Medicine to solve existing problems in the healthcare field for the benefit of mankind. It applies quantitative, analytical, software and hardware methods which help in better understanding of basic biological processes and to develop innovative techniques for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. Future of enhanced healthcare services through biomedical instrumentation lies in the design and development of low-cost systems and solutions which are wearable, portable, energy efficient, and user friendly to measure and monitor in real-time, the parameters in both invasive and non-invasive manner. To achieve this, a highly multidisciplinary curriculum has been prepared which can cater all the above. Students when they graduate will be well trained in advanced signal processing, advanced digital image processing, lab on chips, effective analysis and learning of interrelated parameters using data science concepts, machine learning, MEMS sensor systems, IoT systems, big data analytics, flexible electronics and to develop wearable wireless systems.

M. Tech. Power Electronics and Drives program was introduced by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore and Bangalore in 2003. Internship opportunities are available in core industries. A well-equipped laboratory to facilitate the research needs of graduate students includes experimental laboratory with three phase IGBT based inverter, FPGA and PWM card, PLC training kit, Dspace ACE training kit, NI-DAQ ,TMS kits and computer lab with softwares like MATLAB, OrCAD , Lab VIEW, ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, Xilinx, MultiSim, etc. Alumni of the course are placed in ABB, Robert Bosch, L&T, etc. Students publish research papers in scopus indexed journals or conferences as a part of their course. Many students received best paper awards in various conferences for their research papers.

M. Tech in Manufacturing Engineering at Amrita focuses on the requirements of the manufacturing industry embracing the areas of production, planning and control, design, materials, processes and quality control. The curriculum has been framed by drawing course contents from traditional fields such as materials and processes, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, and management. The syllabus for various courses has been designed in general to introduce the application of analytical and quantitative methods in manufacturing and to train the students to develop skills in the utilization of the modern tools such as simulation, optimization, statistical data analysis, and finite element analysis.
