A deeply heartbreaking incident from Kokrajhar has left everyone shocked and disturbed. Two innocent schoolgirls, Anamika Bara (Class IX) and Charita Lakra (Class VIII), were allegedly subjected to a horrifying and inhuman act. Both students of Dholmara High School had reportedly gone missing while returning home from school, after which their families and local residents began searching for them.
Their bodies were later recovered from a pond at Lalkura Part-Il Tea Estate in Dholmara, Kokrajhar district. Their bicycles and sandals were also reportedly found near the pond, raising serious questions surrounding the incident. In connection with the case, police have reportedly arrested Nitul Tea Garden manager Golam Mostafa and Ejahan Ali, while investigation is currently underway.
This shameful incident has sparked anger, grief, and concern across society. We strongly condemn such brutality and demand strict, speedy, and exemplary punishment for all those involved. No human being deserves such cruelty, and justice for the victims must not be delayed.
