Inspector Govindaraju from K.P. Agrahara station was nabbed Wednesday while allegedly accepting ₹4 lakh to drop complainant Mohammed Akbar's name from a December 2025 chit fund cheating probe against Akbar and others. Sources said that Akbar had paid ₹1 lakh advance on January 24 before tipping off Lokayukta, who trapped Govindaraju at Chamarajpet's City Armed Reserve grounds using phenolphthalein-tainted notes. He now faces Prevention of Corruption Act charges, with probes checking for earlier bribes or accomplices in the case. Videos of the arrest fueled online anger over police graft and praise for Lokayukta's swift action.

**FIR MLA Sharanu Salagar ke khilaf: Election ke dauran businessman se ₹99 lakh ka qarz lekar dhokha dene ka ilzam**
Basavakalyana Nagar police station mein BJP MLA Sharanu Salagar (Basavakalyan constituency) ke khilaf ek case darj kiya gaya hai. Ilzam hai ke unhon ne 2023 Assembly elections ke dauran ek businessman se liye gaye ₹99 lakh ka qarz wapas nahi kiya. Yeh karwai businessman Sanju Sugure ki shikayat par, Bengaluru ke ACJM court ke hukm ke baad ki gayi. Is maamle ne riyasat ki siyasat mein khaasi charcha paida kar di hai.
Shikayat ke mutabiq, 2023 ke assembly elections ke dauran MLA Sharanu Salagar ne apne election kharchon ke liye Sanju Sugure se ₹99 lakh qarz liya tha. Qarz ki guarantee ke taur par MLA ne apne dastkhat wale blank cheques aur signed letterheads diye the. Elections ke baad kai mahine guzar jaane ke bawajood, baar baar taqazon ke baad bhi raqam wapas nahi ki gayi. Aakhirkar 14 September 2025 ko buzurgon ki maujoodgi mein hui baithak mein MLA ne qarz tasleem karte hue cheque dene par razamandi zahir ki.
Shikayat mein yeh bhi kaha gaya hai ke 16 September ko Sanju Sugure apni biwi aur bete ke saath MLA ke ghar gaye taa ke cheque jama karwane ki tasdeeq kar saken. Is dauran MLA ne badtameezi ka rawaiya ikhtiyar kiya, gaali-galauj ki aur cheque bank mein jama karwane par sangin dhamkiyan di. Jab 19 September ko cheque bank mein pesh kiya gaya to pata chala ke account pehle hi band tha. Iske baad Sugure ne court ka darwaza khatkhataaya, jiske baad FIR darj hui. Police ne dhokha-dhadi, dhamki aur intimidation ke ilzamat ki tahqiqaat shuru kar di hain, jis se Karnataka ki siyasat mein halchal mach gayi hai.
