Islam teaches that men and women are equal before God. It grants women divinely sanctioned inheritance, property, social and marriage rights, including the right to reject the terms of a proposal and to initiate divorce.
In Islam's early period, women were professionals and property owners, as many are today.
Prophet Muhammad himself frequently counseled Muslim men to treat their wives and daughters well.

Fought in 3 AH, the Battle of Uhud is the second greatest battle fought between the Muslim army under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the leaders of the Quraysh. The Battle of Uhud took place in the name of revenge one year after the Battle of Badr and three years following the migration to Madinah.
However, the initial victory of the Muslims during Ghazwah Uhud soon turned into defeat after some archers left a strategically important spot, allowing the Quraysh to attack from behind.

IN BATTLE OF BADR -
The first decisive battle in the HISTORY OF ISLAM , Muslim army was made up of 300-317 men, 82-86 Emigrants, 61 from Aws and 170 from Khazraj.
They were not well-equipped nor adequately prepared. They had only two horses, 70 camels, one for two or three men to ride alternatively.
The little army was divided into two battalions, the Emigrants with a standard raised by 'Ali bin Abi Talib, and the Helpers whose standard was in the hand of Sa'd bin Mu'adh.
Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam was appointed to the leadership of the right flank, Al- Miqdad bin 'Amr to lead the left flank, and the rear of the army was at the command of Qais bin Abi Sa'sa'ah.
The General Commander-in-Chief was the Prophet Muhammad, of course.
