The song “Kaminee Mani Sakhi” is a famous Padam composed by Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma, the Maharaja of Travancore.🎶

Space: thank you so much for the invite🫶

Special Thanks to for organising this event✨

Dancers:

The lyrics are structured as a playful dialogue between a Nayika (heroine) and her Sakhi (friend/confidante). The Nayika has just returned from a secret meeting with her lover (Lord Padmanabha), and her friend is teasing her with a hint of jealousy by pointing out physical signs of her exhaustion, which the Sakhi attributes to a romantic encounter🥰🤍

Thattadavu is rudimentary in Bharatanatyam and is the foundation in which the structure of the artform stands✨
In this video we explore the 3 speeds of the second Thattadavu👣

In Bharatanatyam, an Adavu is the fundamental building block of pure dance (Nritta), combining specific leg movements, coordinated hand gestures (Mudras), and rhythmic posture. Often described as the "alphabet" of the dance form, Adavus are practiced in three speeds to develop the dancer's strength, precision, and a deep connection to the rhythm (Tala)🌸
