How far can an idea go when given the right platform?
Yesterday was MSME Day — a moment to reflect on how government-led initiatives can catalyze innovation at the grassroots level. And just in time, we received a story that reminded us why these efforts matter so much.
Meet Vaibhav Pandey, a student innovator from NMIMS. His idea — Biros, a Bioinspired Robotic Snake — has just been awarded a ₹12.5 lakh grant under the MSME 4.0 Hackathon incubation scheme, conducted by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
As the incubation partner of NMIMS, Sobus had the opportunity to facilitate the pitch setup that enabled Vaibhav to present his idea. It was a government initiative, powered by the Ministry, and Vaibhav did the hard work — but often, what makes the difference is access to the right room at the right time.
That’s where we see our role at Sobus.
We don’t claim the spotlight. But we work to build the stage.
This milestone isn’t just about funding. It’s a glimpse into what’s possible when students are exposed to the real startup ecosystem early on — where their ideas meet policy, mentorship, and real-world validation.
Every campus has a Vaibhav.
Every classroom has a Biros waiting to be built.
What they need is structure, opportunity, and support.
At Sobus, we focus on being that bridge — between academia and public programs, between intent and action, and between local innovation and national impact.

Nearly 915 million people—that’s around 91.5 crore Indians—live in rural areas today, making up 63.6% of the country’s population.
Yet, less than one-third of social initiatives effectively reach these rural communities.
Here’s why that matters:
Rural India holds vast potential—but a large chunk of programs never create long-term change.
Without alignment between government schemes, NGOs, academic institutions, and businesses, efforts often stay fragmented.
True impact needs systems thinking, shared ownership, and strong collaboration.
At Sobus, we work to connect the dots—bringing together government bodies, academia, social enterprises, and communities to create large-scale, lasting social impact.
Because real transformation doesn’t come from working alone—it comes from working together.
