Bhogi 🔥
Focusing on renewal, detoxification and aligning the body with the changing winter season. It encourages both physical and mental well-being through specific practices and dietary habits. 
🔥Bhogi marks the end of the deep winter and the beginning of Uttarayana (the sun's northward movement). The tradition of a "spring clean" for the house (discarding old items) is a physical act of promoting hygiene and a clean living environment.
🔥The ceremonial bonfire (Bhogi Mantalu) was traditionally lit with medicinal wood, cow dung, and ghee to purify the air, destroy bacteria, and prevent infectious diseases that often increase during seasonal transitions.
🔥Traditional Bhogi recipes like Bhogichi Bhaji (a mixed vegetable dish) and Puran Poli use seasonal produce, sesame seeds, and jaggery. These ingredients provide essential nutrients, warmth, and energy, boosting the body's metabolism and immunity during the cold weather.
🔥The ritual of showering children with Regi Pallu (Indian jujube), flowers, and coins is believed to protect them from the evil eye and bless them with health and a bright future, reinforcing a sense of community care and protection. This process of "burning" away negativity makes room for positivity, hope, and a fresh start in life.
