Does school life really make a difference to the well-being of young people?

In short: YES…

Schools are central to the lives of teenagers. They spent most of their time there and it’s the place where their friendships stem from. School can be a site of anxiety and worry, due to academic pressure and the need to fit in and 'be normal'. Relationships with teachers can hugely affect how a young person feels about themselves and school.

Bullying, racism, sexism, humiliation, and exclusion can all happen at school just as they happen in the workplace.

If it is not tolerate in the workplace, should it be tolerated in schools?

We are excited to build closer working relationships with our 14 schools based across Bengaluru and the Kolar districts over the next few years, implementing project SAMAs suite of multi-component school-based interventions.
