π Which platform to choose for building a website?
I get this question many times.
This is a question that many people struggle with, especially the ones who have never built a website before.
Well, the answer is- it depends. It depends on your needs and your familiarity with the platform.
For e.g, if you have an e-commerce business, you can choose between WordPress and Shopify.
I'll make it even more straightforward, if you don't want the hassle of having your own server(hosting) then go with Shopify. But if you want flexibility, go with WordPress+ Woocommerce. It's the best combination.
But let's say you are a doctor, have a small clinic and want to manage your appointments on your own, then go with Wix or Squarespace. Both are easy to manage and you can offer your services and can take appointments directly from the website. It's also inexpensive.
Now, let's talk about custom-coded websites. This is good for building complex websites or software. But even if you are building software, you can choose any CMS(Content management system) for the Home page, Service page, Blogs etc and build the software on a separate tech stack.
This way managing your website would be easy and also cost effective. Many large websites have been built that way including Razorpay.
So, it really depends on what your needs are and you can choose your platform accordingly.

πAre you confused between cloud hosting and shared hosting too?
Even though we live in a tech world, choosing the best hosting provider is still a pain, especially for beginners.
Some people say go for shared hosting like- , , or and some say go for Cloud hosting like- AWS, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean etc.
Well, let me help you out here after having personally experienced this pain.
If you have a normal website, just to display information about you or your business, go for shared hosting until it reaches min. 10000 visitors per month.
Once you surpass that number, it's recommended that you shift to cloud hosting for a smooth experience. It will speed up your website and as you know speed is one of the factors in SEO ranking.
But if you have a business website, I would recommend you purchase cloud hosting from day 1. It'll be a little expensive but trust me it's worth it.
You can choose any of the top 5 cloud hosting services:
1. Amazon Web Services (AWS)
2. Google Cloud
3. Microsoft Azure
4. DigitalOcean
5. Vultr
All of them are good, just look at your budget and choose the best one.
P.S.- If you don't invest in good hosting, you will keep checking scores on Page Speed Insights and will keep fixing things here and there but it won't work.
Because many times the speed issue is the result of a bad server(hosting).
