“Global Tiger Day was established in 2010 at the
St Petersburg Tiger Summit when tiger range
countries declared their aim to double wild tiger
numbers by 2022 . This day is an opportunity to
raise funds for wild tiger conservation and more
importantly build awareness of the issues
effecting their survival – but we need your help !”

১৭৩৬: স্কটিশ বিজ্ঞানী জেমস ওয়াটের জন্ম। ১৭৬৯ সালে বাষ্প ইঞ্জিন আবিষ্কার করে শিল্প বিপ্লবে তিনি আমূল পরিবর্তন এনেছিলেন। তিনি অশ্বক্ষমতা ও শক্তির এসআই ইউনিট ওয়াট আবিষ্কার করেন। ১৭৮২ সালে তিনি উদ্ভাবন করলেন ডবল অ্যাকশন ইঞ্জিন। পরে এটি আরো উন্নত ইঞ্জিনে রূপান্তরিত করা হয়।
