Srinagar Court Convicts Father for Allowing Minor Son to Drive
Srinagar, June 14: A Traffic Court in Srinagar has convicted a vehicle owner for allowing his minor son to drive, holding him guilty under Sections 199-A and 180 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The court proposed a sentence of three years' imprisonment and a fine of ₹25,000, along with cancellation of the vehicle's registration for one year. However, considering that the accused had no previous convictions and pleaded guilty, the court granted him the benefit of the Probation of Offenders Act.
The accused was directed to furnish a bond of ₹2 lakh for maintaining good conduct for two years. The court warned that any violation of the bond conditions would result in the proposed sentence being enforced.
The judgment was delivered by Special Mobile Magistrate (Traffic), Kashmir, Shabir Ahmad Malik.
