If you know me, you know I love shooting people in their surroundings, the story unfolds as you scan around and get an idea of who the person or people are.

There’s something special about working with family. I can’t quite put my finger on it but you don’t get it elsewhere. I met these two brothers running a chicken shop while walking the streets of Cairo. Supplying meat to local areas and earning their crust in the chaos of city.

A post of appreciation for the queen in my life. Every weekend, as a family we get to come together and serve this fine city. Your experience with food has brought a community together in a time where peoples lives have been turned upside down and you gave them a reason to get away from the stresses of their day to eat your food.

Nani taught you what you needed to know and now you’re passing it down to another generation.

As children, we think our mums are always ok, but they have tough days too. Regardless of how your day went, you made sure we had food on the table, sometimes cooking when you didn’t have the strength to, but you did it and look where we are now. Serving people from all walks of life. You’re the definition of a best friend and in my eyes an absolute queen ❤️
