When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. - Helen Keller.

Before I go further, I would like to say a few words about our campus and it is located near the outskirts of thotapalli village surrounded by beautiful hills and a lake. We have an eco-school environment with a focus on sustainability and interacting with nature. We have institute for visually challenged school and with regard to the lessons that I teach (for instance Helen Keller) if any field trip is needed there is no need for visiting outside places as we have a very good environment with a complete source of exposure towards nature. Our children visited institute for visually challenged school in our campus as a part of their lesson. They interacted with the students and understood that their daily routine is pretty much the same when it comes to academics but very different otherwise. They observed a new device called tailor frame which is used to do math activities. They were awestruck with the concept of Braille. They had their names written in braille scrip and also tried writing on braille slate with styles. They enjoyed doing this. They had a look at the books in the script and the printers which print in braille. The computer lab had a special software called “JAWS” which help those with visual challenges use it. My children glanced through the library and the variety of books in Braille. It was indeed a wonderful and motivated trip for children and they have been inspired.

As a land of festivals, India hosts a varied number of celebrations throughout the year, some of which attract people from around the world as they are celebrated with much grandeur. Though there are many such celebrations in different parts of the nations, the occasion of Durga Puja is celebrated with zest in most of the states of India. It is a celebration of the victory of good over evil. Our HEAL school celebrated Dussehra with great pomp! Our Telugu teacher Mr. Nagendra sir and Art department collected different flowers and children arranged those flowers into "bathukamma". Bathukamma is a floral festival celebrated predominantly by the Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh. Bathukamma resembles goddess Durga Maa arranged in 7 layers with varied flowers in the form of a temple gopuram. Children enjoyed singing songs and dancing at butukamma. Our secretary Lakshmi ma'am and teachers also participated well in the celebrations.🎊🎉
