Congratulations to Verena Meier for winning the 2026 Dan David Prize.

Verena is a historian of modern Germany and Europe whose research focuses on the genocide of Sinti and Roma during Na**sm. Her work, which takes a long duree approach to antigypsyism, explores how institutions of power translate visions of social order into practice, and gives voice to those who have been silenced.
