🦁 Stop Trying to Tame the Lion!
In our recent service at Beit Immanuel, Shulamit shared a life-changing message about achieving spiritual victory over the flesh. Using the tragic true story of a family that tried to raise a "pet" lion, she reminded us that our sinful nature is not a harmless companion—it is a predator that seeks to destroy our spiritual lives.
Key Takeaways:
The "Intruder" Mindset: We must stop treating sin as a permanent resident in our hearts. As Shulamit powerfully stated: "Sin in the flesh is an intruder, not a resident".
Lessons from Joshua: Looking at the tribes of Israel, we see how compromise with "spiritual enclaves" leads to traps, pain, and loss of vision. Victory doesn't come from making deals with our weaknesses but from total reliance on God.
The Three L’s Strategy (ל):
Know (Lada'at): Recognize your legal identity—in Christ, you are already dead to sin.
Restrain (Lerasen): Use the "brakes" of spiritual discipline to protect your walk.
Flow (Lizrom): Stop striving in your own strength and learn to "flow" in the Holy Spirit, just as a branch stays connected to the vine.
Shulamit also shared a moving personal testimony of how Jesus delivered her from a long-term struggle with food health issues the moment she stopped trying to win in her own strength and handed the battle to Him.
Don't settle for a life of compromise. It’s time to take up the "axe of the Spirit" and reclaim your territory!
