VERY MOVING: What you are about to hear is a deeply personal testimony from an actress born in Iran. She takes us on a journey through her family’s suffering, their escape to Turkey, and a 15-year wait before finally finding safety in Canada. As she reflects on this, she connects her story to a larger history—how Jews and Iranians once coexisted, and how, under the weight of the Islamic regime, hatred was fostered. She calls us to a future where, once that regime falls, Jews and Iranians can reclaim their historic bond—one rooted in the legacy of Cyrus the Great, who once freed the Jews from Babylon. This is a personal journey entwined with a historical vision of hope and reconciliation.

Following Iran’s missile attacks on Israel yesterday and this morning, any discussion of a ceasefire is likely to be met with scepticism in Jerusalem.

For many Israelis, the issue is not whether a ceasefire can be declared, but whether it can be trusted.

The recent attacks reinforced a longstanding belief within Israel’s security establishment that national security must be based on capabilities and preparedness rather than promises. When missiles are launched at Israeli cities, confidence in diplomatic assurances becomes difficult to maintain.

Even if hostilities were to pause, Israel would almost certainly remain on high alert. Air defence systems would stay operational, intelligence agencies would continue monitoring Iranian activity, and military planners would prepare for the possibility of renewed attacks.

There is also concern that a ceasefire could give Iran valuable time to regroup, repair damaged infrastructure, replenish stockpiles, and reassess its military strategy. From Israel’s perspective, vigilance remains essential precisely because periods of calm can be temporary.

Most Israelis would welcome a reduction in violence and a chance to avoid a wider regional war. However, the attacks of the past 24 hours have deepened doubts about whether Tehran can be relied upon to uphold any agreement over the long term.

Trust is earned through actions, not declarations. After the missile attacks on Israel, many would argue that Iran now faces the challenge of proving that any future ceasefire is more than a temporary pause.

Until then, Israel is likely to remain cautious, vigilant, and prepared for whatever comes next.

Iran was absolutely wrong to launch rockets and missiles at Israel last night and this morning. Regardless of political disagreements or regional disputes, firing missiles at civilian population centres is a reckless escalation that risks a much broader conflict.

The attack appears to have achieved the opposite of what Tehran may have intended. Rather than deterring Israel, it has strengthened Israeli resolve and increased public support for a firm response.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly stated that attacks against Israel will be met with a powerful response. Recent statements from Israeli leaders and military officials suggest that Israel views such attacks as a direct challenge to its sovereignty and security.

Based on comments made by members of the Israeli government, several possible consequences could follow:

• Additional Israeli airstrikes against Iranian military infrastructure.

• Expanded operations targeting missile launch sites, command centres, and weapons production facilities.

• Increased pressure on Iranian-backed proxy groups operating throughout the region.

• Further efforts to weaken Iran’s military capabilities and strategic influence.

• Greater diplomatic pressure on Tehran from countries concerned about regional stability.

Israel’s leadership has consistently maintained that attacks on Israeli territory will not go unanswered and that those responsible will face serious consequences. The events of the past 24 hours have only reinforced that position.

Whether one supports or opposes the policies of the Israeli government, launching missiles at Israel was a dangerous and reckless provocation that heightened regional tensions and increased the risk of a wider conflict. If Iran continues down this path, it may face consequences far more severe than any short-term gains it hoped to achieve.

History has repeatedly shown that wars often begin with a single miscalculation. Iran’s decision to fire rockets at Israel may prove to be one of the most consequential strategic errors the regime has made in recent years.
