Part of Schechter's role in Jewish life is to enrich clergy and their families during the summer and all year round.

Earlier this week, the בית המדרש לרבנים ע"ש שכטר Schechter Rabbinical Seminary held an all day event bringing together rabbis from Israel (and abroad) as well as their families for a day filled with Jewish liturgical singing and learning. Melodies from Turkey, Iran, Israel, Eastern Europe and North America were sung accompanied by the Shirata, SRS's liturgical melody program with Liat Itzhaki ליאת יצחקי and Rabbi Uri Kroizer.

Living a Jewish life in Ukraine has never been easy. Not in the far past, the difficult now, but things are looking up.

For those trying to live a Kosher life in Ukraine, another class of certified kosher slaughterers has been completed. Thanks to Rabbi Shlomo Zacharow and his team's effort to open the course to Ukrainian Jews, four more shochetim are now certified enabling more people around the country to enjoy kosher meat at reasonable pricing with the knowledge that the meat has been certified.

The intensive course inlcudes rabbinic source learning, practicums including knife work and opening and checking the chickens and other animals for defects.

The course normally held in English and Hebrew was held in Russian & Ukranian.

Amazing work in bringing these people to certification....especially during a war in a war zone.

On Oct. 7th, 2023, communities in the south of Israel withstood terrible acts of terror. In those just over 1,000 days communities have worked to find a way to out of their psychological and mental abysses caused by the attacks and their aftermath.

Schechter's Marpeh program for community leaders and other professionals in Ofakim, one of the affected communities, provides avenues of therapy - and more importantly - creates tools leaders can utilize to help others out of the mental dangers.

Another co-chort of students - led by Yahaloma Zchut - completed this year's program with a certifcate from Schechter. The tools they have learned and earned will help others in the community better themselves.

We are proud of the work they have done.
Here they celebrate at Israel's National Library and in the courtyard of Schechter.

Going from Strength to Strength.
