I’m really disappointed at the lack of LGBTQ+ Jsoc events this term. Not having an LGBTQ+ FND for the first term in years has been a real shame, as has the lack of pub night social. It’s such a shame the LGBTQ+ rep position has been turned into a joke. It’s made even worse by the fact that this comes at a time with antisemitism being rife within the broader LGBTQ+ community, forcing q***r Jews to retreat from it, and with homophobia and transphobia still huge issues within the Jewish community and the country at large, having Jsoc (at least in past terms) extend a hand to LGBTQ+ Jews has been especially meaningful, particularly considering not all of us have easy home lives because of our identities
