✨ This year, the digital fabrication course challenged our students to experience product discovery through Imperfect Prototyping: rapid user research, rapid prototyping, rapid research, and pitch presentation.
Over eight intensive weeks, our MA in HCI students were asked to design for one of two user groups: pet owners or cyclists. They conducted a full product discovery process, starting with user interviews to identify real needs, followed by solution definition, physical prototyping, and multiple rounds of user feedback and iteration. The projects evolved through hands-on making, using tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting, until reaching a well-considered final outcome. The final projects highlight not only strong ideas but also a clear focus on user value and human-centered design.
💡 The next phase of the AI revolution will be physical AI. Stay tuned for the next stage of this course, in which students will integrate AI processes into the physical prototypes.
🙏🏼 A special thanks to our dedicated course team for their guidance and support throughout this focused process: Lecturer: Andrey Grishko, Teaching Assistants: Guy Geva, Aviad Kelner and Klil Horesh.

🚀 What happens when students, doctors, & AI come together to reimagine healthcare?
🏆Congrats to the winning team that will travel to NY to continue developing their project with medical teams, alongside our faculty & mentors from Base44! Ascribe’s AI solution supports nurses' “Shadow Practices", converting spoken notes, photos, & quick texts into structured documentation
Our MA in HCI students completed the AI Product Sprint led by Dr. Ayelet Segal, in collaboration with Wix, Base44, The Mount Sinai Hospital & NYU Langone Health, a 4-week innovation marathon where design, research, & AI met to transform healthcare
Through Human–AI Centered Design, the projects demonstrated how AI can be a trusted partner in healthcare - not replacing humans, but empowering them!
The students worked on real hospital challenges
💡Streamlining documentation
💡Making handoffs faster & safer
💡Reducing cognitive load for clinicians
💡Ensuring patients are heard & understood
Beyond the innovative solutions, we are proud of the students’ ability to
✨Work in interdisciplinary teams
✨Collaborate with global industry & healthcare leaders
✨Transform academic research into prototypes with real-world potential
Base44 medical apps:
* AllDocs – A shared patient note with multimodal input; AI auto-generates discharge summaries, treatment plans, & handoffs
* Aria – The AI Triage Nurse: multilingual chat, audio/video analysis, & biosensor monitoring synthesize into real-time summaries & risk alerts
* ERgo – Real-time AI translator & compassionate companion ensuring non-English speakers are understood from the first ER touch point
* Lotus – AI-enabled ICU communication that reduces message overload, adds urgency indicators, generates real-time summaries, & supports seamless handoffs
* SwiftER – AI triage platform with transparent prioritization, queue updates, & calming support tools for patients & staff
* CareConnect – AI health companion bridging cultural & language gaps for inclusive, patient-centered care
* Pulse – Integrated with Epic, offering role-based patient views, critical alerts, & seamless handoffs via app & smartwatch

Over the past four months, our MA in HCI students Alon Dattner, Gal Langer, and Matias Minond collaborated with the innovation lab at monday.com, working under the mentorship of Zvika Markfeld and Saron Paz 🚀. Through this collaboration, our students worked on IoT-driven projects designed to shape the future of work:
🔹 mondayClick – A multi-purpose triggering device that syncs with monday.com products, sending real-time data while enabling cloud-based customization for seamless automation.
🔹 mondayMeet – An AI-based IoT solution that optimizes office efficiency and company culture by providing data-driven meeting insights to enhance collaboration and productivity.
🔹 mondayMonitor – A research-driven exploration of workplace communication, uncovering key pain points and opportunities for future innovations to foster a more engaging, transparent, and effective office environment.
A big thank you to our students and the mondayMakers mentors for their dedication throughout this journey! 🙏
