.." harp duets, that's us, yes, mother and daughter and our harps...Edel and myself Alida...
..we moved from Dublin to lovely Lanesboro 20 years ago, so we consider ourselves true Longfordians now...
..music is pretty much our life...we have a studio at the side of the house and we both teach harp, violen, cello, piano and singing..
.yes, we'd had a fantastic response,especially post Covid, ... we prepare students for the State exams as well as mature students...we also perform at weddings, corporate and private events...absolutely flourishing at the moment...
.how do we get on ?... brilliantly, my Mum us like my big sister..we've never fallen out...
..did I start young ?...our house, when I was growing up was a music household..especially jazz...I started aged 5 and a year later toured with Edel and the Ensemble...we performed the castles of England,Scotland and Wales...absolutely loved it...we're performing ever since..
.when I was aged 7, I travelled to the Guildhall,London for tutoring in violen..first flight in the morning, last flight home that night..thank God for Ryanair and its 99c flights !...
..later, aged 13, studied the peddle harp in University in Arizona...
.then studied Music Performance & Law at Maynooth University..yes, a strange combination !...Mam was a music tutor there beforehand...
.since then we've played all over Ireland,including the National Cincert Hall and the Helix and overseas , Europe, America and Canada...I did two harp tours to China with my students also...
..tell you about these harps ?.. called peddle harps, took over 3 years to build by Italian and American craftsmen and the wood is Italian...the sound is just other worldy...magical...and yes, the harp is my favourite instrument ...
.sort of music ?.. we like to showcase all genres, jazz,pop, film themes, so not just classical or trad...my personal favourite is jazz...

Lanesboro? ..well, why not, it's a genuinely beautiful place with lovely, friendly people..we love contributing to the community with our music and we love the interaction with the students and their families..many are close friends...
..and now with the opening of the amazing Italian restaurant locally, Sorrento, Lanesboro just became even more attractive ..Sorrento is run by a wonderful Italian family...yea, Lanesboro is a gorgeous spot...we're lucky...
.other interests ?.. I love art,reading, travelling and cooking..certainly no time to be bored...
.today ?...as part of the Bealtaine Festival we performed here at the Longford Library and before here, we performed at the Granard and Edgeworthtown libraries..we can't praise the library staff highly enough, fabulous in every way...
