Condolences to the treasurer of Castleplunkett Development Association Lorraine Redmond on the passing of her mother in law Betty. Our thoughts and prayers are with you , Bernard and all of your family at this sad time. May Betty rest in peace.

Elizabeth (Betty) Redmond, Castleplunkett, Castlerea, County Roscommon and Ballinteer, Dublin. Peacefully 5th May 2026 in loving care of Roscommon Hospice with her family by her side.

Reposing at the home of her son Bernard and his wife Lorraine, Castleplunkett this Tuesday evening 5th May 2026 from 7pm.

Followed by removal tomorrow Wednesday 6th May 2026 to Dublin for funeral.

May she rest in peace

It has been brought to our attention that the amenity site in Castleplunkett has been locked.
Roscommon County Council wish to keep the site secure until construction
work has been completed.

We’re on the final stretch now and the site will be fully open and accessible to the public in the near future

A Roderic O'Conor painting has just sold at Whytes auction house for almost a quarter of a million euro. Not bad for a Castleplunkett native. Born in Milltown in 1860 O'Conor's paintings are very popular in the art world. Link in comments

Missing Black Cat
If anyone has a new cat around over the past 4 days or seen this cat around the Castleplunkett area, could you please let this page know.

An important part of the family and kids missing him a lot.
Hes friendly and would happily come into your house to snuggle on the couch or lie in front of the fire.
Cries a lot which can be iritating.
Owner Would love to have him back.
