Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) 2026/2027 is now open.
Funding is provided for the development of new and existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in rural areas.

ORIS Funding Now Open for Outdoor Projects in Rural Meath

The 2026 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) has been launched by Minister Calleary – supporting the development and enhancement of outdoor amenities across rural Ireland. From walking trails and cycleways to blueways and forest walks, this scheme helps bring great ideas to life in our communities.

Meath County Council is now inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs):
🔹 Measure 1 – Small-scale repairs, maintenance and promotion up to €40,000
🔹 Measure 2 – Medium-scale upgrades and new trail development up to €200,000
🔹 Measure 3 – Large-scale strategic projects and new amenities up to €500,000
🔹 Project Development Measure – Planning and design to get projects shovel-ready up to €100,000

Join our Open Water Swimming Programme in Bettystown and build confidence, skills, and fitness in a safe and supportive environment!

📅 Fridays & Sundays (July 17th – August 2nd)
➡Beginners (Level 1): 5:30–6:15pm
➡Improvers (Level 2): 6:15–7:00pm
➡Advanced (Levels 3 & 4): 7:00–7:45pm

🧒 Camps (Kids & Teens)
📅 June 29th – July 3rd
➡Junior Beginners (Levels 1 & 2): 9:30–10:15am
➡Junior Improvers (Levels 2 & 3): 10:15–11:00am
➡Teens: 11:00–11:45am
