The Sub 20 5k Pushing Roscoe In A Buggy (not a 3 wheeler) before he turns 2 is complete (he’s 21 months). It had to be in which is one of the hardest with 3 big hills.
The hardest part was my arms. I’d say it’s what calves used to feel like at the end of a marathon pre super shoes.
Anyway, despite his nonchalant facial expressions he always claps going on a run.

Our first race (is Park Run a race???). His face meant business as he kept on shouting “yah yah yah” as if I was his horse! Navan Park Run isn’t the easiest but it’s so much easier without pushing a non running buggy up 3 big hills. Sub 20 incoming!

Valencia Marathon, Jingle Bells 5k and National Cross Country.

was agonisingly close last year to breaking 3. Just 8 seconds shy! He is now in the Sub 3 gang with a 2.57!
ran a huge PB with 3.11. Ciara started with me in May 2023 and has PBd in every marathon since. Starting out with a 3.38.
pulled out some performance to even finish. After getting knocked down in August while out on a run and tearing cartilage in his knee. The only good thing is he can run in a straight line. Ends up getting sick the week of the marathon to make things worse. It wasn’t a PB but to run 3.22 is way more impressive given the circumstances.
ran a 10 minute PB with a 3.34. He ran Dublin as a prep and wasn’t actually too far from his PB without going to the well so we knew a big PB was looming.
somehow managed to miss his cup and poured boiling water over his foot. I won’t show the images of his foot but let’s just say he’d make a lot of money from OnlyFans if he went on it. Ran an impressive 3.38
ran a PB with a 3.55. Running her long run on a treadmill was a sure sign that she knew how to dig deep when it mattered.
Eoghan Maloney ran a great debut with a 4.09. Only new to running this year and he threw himself into the deep end!

That’s it. Another marathon block done. 3 weeks to go = Taper time. I absolutely love the taper. I must be the only one. You can feel the energy returning to the legs. You also don’t have a dread of a long run. The marathon is just a dance with a few thousand people.
In 3 weeks time I will be showered, fed and having a big cold pint in front of me.
