Golf is a Family Game
And there’s always chips or an ice-cream after ✌🏻🍟🍦
As I’m asked about it a few times a week, I’m gonna make a couple videos on which clubs to get for your kids of all ages to get them started ✌🏻

Holding the Amgen Irish Open trophy at the home of this year’s championship. Not a bad way to start the week. 🏆
I had the opportunity to spend 24 hours Trump Doonbeg for the 2026 Amgen Irish Open Media Day, getting a first look at what’s in store when Ireland’s national open returns to the Clare coast this September.
The day included a hosted press conference & media interviews with Amgen Irish Open & DP World Tour Championship Director Paul Gillmon, Doonbeg General Manager Joe Russell & Head of Golf Brian Shaw, expertly hosted by Shane O’Donoghue.
The headline announcement? Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald will tee it up at the 2026 Amgen Irish Open alongside fellow Team Europe stars Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus Højgaard & Nicolai Højgaard.
And that’s on top of a field that already includes Ireland’s biggest names. Back to back Masters Champion Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Padraig Harrington & Tom McKibbin are all set to tee it up, ensuring Irish golf fans will have no shortage of stars to follow around the dunes of Doonbeg.
Away from the announcements, the real star of the show was Doonbeg itself.
The hospitality was exceptional from the moment we arrived. Huge thanks to the DP World Tour Communications & Media team for the invitation & for putting together a brilliant event, and to the entire Trump Doonbeg hospitality team for looking after us so well throughout.
A special mention also to Scott Marr & his team. The conditioning of the golf course is outstanding & the new 1st & 18th holes are outrageously good. They add even more drama and theatre to a course that was already one of the finest links experiences in Ireland.
Standing on that new opening tee, seeing the championship infrastructure already in place & getting the chance to hold the Waterford Crystal trophy, you could feel the excitement building for what promises to be one of the biggest sporting events on the Irish calendar.
We’re in for a spectacular week in September.
Sunday tickets are already sold out & only a limited number of Saturday tickets remain.
See you all in Doonbeg for the Amgen Irish Open, September 10–13, 2026. 🇮🇪⛳️
