A massive congratulations to Lily Walsh and her brother Conor who have been called up to the Irish squad competing at this year’s FISEC-FICEP Games. The Games will be held in Budapest, Hungary from 13 to 19 July and will host participants from around the World, including from countries such as Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Spain.

Selection to the Irish team was made by the Asicus School Sports Federation (ASSF), the official Irish national representative body in FISEC. Joining a strong squad of over twenty athletes from Ireland, Conor Walsh (Colaiste Mhuire) will race in the boys 3,000m, while Lily Walsh (Loreto College) will line up for the girls 1,500m event. Best of luck to both athletes.

Good news for carers across Westmeath.

The weekly income disregard for Carer’s Allowance has increased from €625 to €1,000 for a single person and from €1,250 to €2,000 for a couple.

This means more carers will now qualify for support, while many existing recipients will receive a higher payment.

More than 3,000 people in Westmeath are already supported through carers' payments - making a real difference for local families!
