Some places are more than just places to eat, The Golden Grill was one of them. So sad to hear it is closing!

For me, it was comfort food on long days, familiar faces behind the counter, and chips wrapped up with care like they always meant something more than just a takeaway. It was never fancy, never trying to be anything other than itself and that’s exactly why it meant so much.

Sixty years is an incredible run, and it’s hard to imagine Limerick without it. So many memories live in those four walls, quick stops, late nights, conversations that lingered longer than the food.

Thank you to Diana and the whole team for the warmth, the consistency, and the years of looking after a community. You gave us more than meals , you gave us moments we’ll hold onto.

Today marks the end of an era as Joe Nash signs off from Limerick Today.

Joe has been a voice of Limerick for years, keeping people informed, connected and entertained. During COVID, when many felt isolated, he was a trusted companion in homes and kitchens across the city and county.

As a public representative, I always appreciated Joe's fairness. He never pulled his punches and asked the tough questions, but he always did so with professionalism, balance and journalistic integrity.

His passion for Limerick, his knowledge, his laugh and his voice will be greatly missed on the airwaves.

Thank you, Joe, for your outstanding service to Limerick. Wishing you every success in the next chapter. πŸ‘πŸŽ™οΈ
