Todays adventure took two b*tchhikers to Ticknock mountain and forest walk. One of us wearing skinny jeans, converse and last nights bling while the other had at least gotten out of her pyjamas!

Unknown to us, the trail starts at the little café where you get the bikes. We took the less scenic route of the car park loop, and that is a hike all in itself! We sweated it out anyway and hid our lack of breathing as far as the skyline view where Dublin City stretches out beautifully before your eyes. There’s not really any place to sit and rest, so we decided to go left of the giant pylon and take the loop that would lead us back… I think somewhere along the line we went off track. In amidst little views between the trees we came across a barrier that said no rambling 🤔 yet cheered on by an old lad out on a jog (putting us to shame) we swung over the barrier and rambled up amongst the satellite towers. If it wasn’t for the random family or couple along the way we would have felt like right rebels.

Eventually we found familiar ground and ended the trail where we should have started it (not through the car park) and finished up at the café. The food here is so so good by the way! I’m not sure what my toastie was called but it tasted like a spicy pizza on toast, and the raspberry chocolate cookie I got with it was absolutely amazing!

You wouldn’t get a full day out of this hike (unless there is lots more adventure right of the pylon… could be) but it is pleasant with a fabulous view of our fair city 💕

Let us know how you got on in the comments 👌🏼
