Announcement
It is with profound regret that we have to announce the immediate closure of “ The Boat Inn”.
For 13 years we have served the community of Oughterard with food and refreshments for christenings, weddings, funerals, events and everything in between and what a pleasure it was to do so, the support over those years from you the community of Oughterard and surrounds has been unwavering and will never be forgotten I thank you for that support from the bottom of my Heart,
The ongoing exorbitant costs of running a business have finally come to bear on us, rising dramatically in the last few years, making it very difficult to trade in a profitable way, coupled with personal health issues, I have had to take the heart wrenching decision to finally call it a day.
Undoubtedly the hardest part of this process has been informing our incredible team of staff,
I have been blessed to work with some truly incredible people over the years none more so than my present team we consider our place of work a “Family” and that makes it even more difficult to part company.
From all our staff and myself I wish you all a fond farewell and look forward to the future whatever that may bring.

⚠️ AGAIN, the weather is against us for Sunday as it looks to be wet & windy 😕for this reason we have decided we will be TURNING ON THE LIGHTS ** ** Tomorrow - SATURDAY ** on the square. Please spread the word to others who might not be on social media about the Day & time change.
