A comparative view between how the town square in Mountrath Co. Laois may have looked today and how it looked with the Market House in 1912 (demolished in 1964). Brought back to life 'virtually' in interactive 3D, the Market House can be explored on this novel 3d web viewer. It also shows various future sustainable town development options, following extension consultations with the local community;

This reminds me of Henry Ford’s famous quote, “If I had asked people what they want, they would have said, Faster Horses”. Todays transport policies of many cities are looking for faster horses rather than focusing on innovation within public transport

As cities become more congested, wasting productivity and increasing pollution, we must shift the focus and emphasis on cheap, reliable, and safe public transportation. I envision the federal government diverting funds to military contracts, not to build multi-millionaire planes and bombs that will never see action, but to build public transportation vehicles and green technology that directly benefit every American.

Great way to encourage public health and transport at the same time

In Cluj-Napoca, Romania, you can pay for your bus ticket by doing 20 squats. A device measures the squats and issues a bus ticket valid for a trip in the CTP Cluj Napoca network (urban area). Disabled and elderly people can ride for free.
